It is centered around an alternate history 1999 and Protoframes - individuals that are precursors to certain present day Warframes. Players initially take the role of Arthur, the Protoframe of Excalibur, during the events of New Years Eve 1999 in a city under threat of a virus outbreak and paramilitary occupation.
