Description: 

In Pulse Racer, players participate in races across a number of courses in a traditional cart racing video game. The game introduces a new idea of the "heart rate" mechanic in which players may "speed boost" by using the joystick, but they have to keep their heart rate below a certain point to avoid a heart attack, which would cause the driver to go into cardiac arrest and lose their current racing position. 

Various power-ups are also available in races, including "plasma orbs" that let players turn corners without losing speed and collectibles such as shields, speed boosts, healing power-ups, and offensive weaponry like mines and missiles.
