The audio is stored in proprietary binary formats: - .bnm files: Audio banks containing raw PCM segments - .lbf files: Index files with offset/size for each segment - .mlb files: Sequencing metadata for the adaptive music engine The game includes 5 unique music tracks: - 1 menu theme (Bnk_88) - 4 racing themes corresponding to road surfaces: Tarmac (Bnk_50), Gravel (Bnk_51), Sand (Bnk_52), Snow (Bnk_53) These 5 tracks are duplicated across 27 bank files in the game data to allow quick loading for different rally stages. EXTRACTION PROCESS: 1. Initial analysis revealed the audio format through hex analysis of .bnm headers: the value 22050 at offset 0x68 indicated the sample rate, and bytes at 0x6c [16, 0, 1, 0] revealed 16-bit mono format. 2. The .lbf index files were parsed to extract individual audio segments (12-15 segments per track). 3. Raw PCM data was extracted from .bnm files at the offsets specified in the .lbf index, then converted to WAV using FFmpeg. 4. The playback sequences were manually reconstructed by listening to the in-game music and matching segment patterns. The racing tracks share the same sequence structure but use different instrument samples for each surface type. 5. Final assembly was done using FFmpeg concat demuxer, encoding to MP3 V0 for best quality-to-size ratio. ================================================================================ CREDITS ================================================================================ Extraction and sequencing by: fusorf Tools used: Python, FFmpeg, hex editors Date: February 2026 ================================================================================ Published on site: 7th of February, 2026
