New Super Mario Bros. (or New スーパーマリオブラザーズ) was released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS, and was a gift for all the players who were tired of the shift to 3D since Super Mario 64.

The game is your typical Mario type: Princess Peach is kidnapped and our plumber goes to the rescue. There are new power-ups, abillities, minigames and even addition game modes outside of the main campaign.

This game starts 4-part sub-series of games, like starting with New Super Mario Bros. Wii until New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
