Metroid (or メトロイド in the Japanese version) is a 1986 action game made for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Famicom Disc System. The game tells about a female bounty hunter named Samus Aran who has to eliminate all Metroids on Planet Zebes and defeat the Space Pirates.


Unlike the International Release we all know, the Japanese Release includes significant changes. One of these is a proper Save System (similar to The Legend Of Zelda), and an altered soundtrack to take advantage of the enhanced sound capabilities of the Famicom Disk System.
