It was never intended to be made available to the general public and was only ever delivered to the company's own restaurants domestically when it was published for the Nintendo DS in 2010 by McDonald's Japanese subsidiary. The game was designed to train new restaurant staff members and teaches the player how to prepare and serve a variety of McDonald's menu items, as well as carry out other restaurant responsibilities. It has a variety of game modes and features, such as quizzes, employee and manager player profiles, performance statistics, and simulations of food preparation and customer contact. It was issued concurrently with a separate game called eSMART with the intention of instructing current employees as opposed to recruiting new ones. The eSMART game has a lot less documented about it. The only known copy of the game, was sold to American YouTuber Nick Robinson for about 300,000 Yen (3,000 USD) on Yahoo Japan through Buyee in September 2020 during an online auction. On 17 November 2020, Robinson released the game cartridge's ROM and a video he had made explaining how he acquired it to the Internet Archive. The game's password was printed on the McDonald's-themed DS Robinson received, but Coddy Trentuit, who was also looking for it, discovered it by looking through the game's data in a hex editor.
